Kaleidoscope Art Seminar for High School Students

In the spring of 2000, the very first Kaleidoscope Art Seminar for High School Students was held. Sponsored by the Delaware Foundation for the Visual Arts, in response to the mission to encourage aspiring young artists, this program has continued, supported primarily by DFVA fundraising efforts.

Students interested in visual art from across the state and beyond gather on a Saturday morning at the Delaware College of Art and Design, 600 North Market Street in Wilmington. for the annual Kaleidoscope workshops. The day begins at 9:00 and ends at 3:30. This seminar style program has featured marvelous hands-on workshops by many professional artists. Our workshops are well-received by our participants and many of our presenters request to return again and again. Each student pre-selects both morning and afternoon sessions to attend from five or six course offerings.

After a light continental breakfast and brief introductions, they are off to action packed adventures in small group settings. Past workshop presenters have included Jennifer Thompson, Maria Keane, Nancy Willis, Lori Hollenbeck, E. Jean Lanyon , Jim Windram, Kass Morin Freeman, Terry Newitt, Helen Mason, Marietta Dantonio, Marianne Mitchell, John Ed Bon Fed and many more.

The seminar fee of $30 includes lunch and two workshops. Pre-registration is highly recommended. For additional information, please contact Meg Fierro at
